Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and writer. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and was subjected to a variety of racist taunts and made her feel unwelcome. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more confident when she was praised by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. The singer not only gained confidence from the experience, but she also changed the direction of her career. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School. When she turned 23 years old, she launched her career in Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 her first film debut was You've got mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she played the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway show Spamalot receiving not just the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater recognition. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she has released two solo albums as well as an extended version. Also, she's an activist and works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
